Booking Terms & Conditions

Payment of Deposits

 

Please be advised that we cannot accept payment by credit or debit card.  All transactions are by CASH, CHEQUE or PO only.

 

A deposit equivalent to the cost of the first night’s stay will be required to secure a room.

 

A room will be held provisionally for three working days from the date of your initial enquiry allowing ample time for the receipt of deposits. Acknowledgments of receipt of deposits are made by return either by telephone or by email.

All rates quoted are based on two persons sharing either a DOUBLE or a TWIN EN SUITE room and are inclusive of FULL ENGLISH BREAKFAST and PRIVATE PARKING.

 

Parking space is available from 10am on day of arrival until 10 am on day of departure. There is no need to pre-book as there is enough space to accommodate one vehicle per letting room.

 

A minimum stay of stay of two/three nights will apply at weekends, bank holidays and events at peak periods.  Some events eg Folk Week, Whitby Regatta & the Goth Weekends are subject to minimum stays from between  2 and 4 nights when the maximum tariff rate will apply. We will advise regarding rates at the time of a booking enquiry.

 

Arrivals & Departures

 

We are able to offer two main periods for checking in to help you make the most of your stay with us. You may register your arrival from 10 am until lunchtime when we are happy to accept any luggage, issue room keys and allocate parking space but please note that rooms may not be ready for immediate occupation. In the afternoon we are available to check you in between 4 pm & 6 pm ( or later by prior arrangement - see opposite).

 

Check out is by 10 am on your morning of departure.

No Smoking Policy

 

Holmleigh Guest House is a TOTALLY NON SMOKING ESTABLISHMENT. 

 

As such the business is governed by current legislation regarding smoking in public places. There are NO DESIGNATED SMOKING AREAS WITHIN THE GUEST HOUSE therefore guests who wish to smoke are requested to do so outside the building away from the public areas and to safely dispose of any smoking materials.

 

Please note:

 

The proprietors of Holmleigh Guest House operate a zero tolerance approach to smoking in the guest house.  We reserve the right to immediately curtail the stay of any person or persons breaking the law without refund of monies paid.

 

Special Arrangements

 

If you find are unable to check in during any of the periods, we are quite happy to arrange a time with you at the time of booking. When no alternative arrangements have been agreed and you fail to check in within normal check in times, your booking may be treated as a “no show” and we may re-let your room. All we ask is please keep us informed if you intend to arrive later than your stated arrival time to avoid any misunderstandings.
